I MYSELF HAVE STRUGGLED WITH ANXIETY THIS PAST YEAR. I’VE SEEN HOW JUST A FEW BAD CHOICES CAN SNOWBALL INTO WEIGHT GAIN, INSOMNIA, BACK PAIN, INFLAMMATION, ETC. BUT IT’S IMPORTANT TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE AND NOT JUST ESCAPE IT WITH UNHEALTHY HABITS AND BINGE WATCHING TV. WE ALL KNOW WHERE THAT LEADS…

I GET IT, WE NEED COMFORT, BUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THESE HABITS GET OUT OF CONTROL? YOU FIND YOURSELF PACKING ON THE POUNDS AND FEELING MORE DEPRESSED, LESS IN CONTROL AND LIKE GIVING UP. THAT’S NOT THE ANSWER. THERE’S GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY. WE KNOW THIS INTELLECTUALLY, BUT AT TIMES WE HOLD OURSELVES BACK FROM CHANGE OUT OF FEAR OF FAILURE OR WHAT PEOPLE WILL THINK.

BUT CHANGE CAN BE GOOD, FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY/ FRIENDS, COLLEAGUES, ETC. WE NEED CHANGE AND IT STARTS FROM WITHIN. EVEN MORE SO WE NEED A PLAN FOR CHANGE. IF WE TAKE SMALL STEPS AND EVEN IF WE MESS UP, (BECAUSE WE’RE HUMAN), AND LIFE GETS BUSY, YOU CAN ALWAYS GET BACK ON TRACK.

GIVE YOURSELF A CHANCE. YOU’RE WORTH IT! THE FIRST STEP IS BELIEVING IN YOURSELF. WITH TIME AND CONSISTANT EFFORT, YOU WILL FEEL BETTER, STRONGER, WISER AND MORE IN CONTROL.

DIET CAN PLAY A HUGE PART IN OUR ANXIETY AND OVERALL HEALTH. WE DON’T REALIZE THAT WHAT WE CONSUME EFFECTS HOW WE THINK, ACT AND FEEL AT TIMES. IT’S ALL CONNECTED. AS I LEARN MORE ABOUT THE BODY AND MIND I’M INCREASINGLY AWARE OF THIS. EVEN WHEN I CHOOSE TO IGNORE WHAT I’VE LEARNED, IT COMES BACK TO BITE ME IN THE YOU KNOW WHAT. I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO COME BACK TO THE TRUTH. IT’S MORE THAN VANITY. OUR CHOICES MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN WHAT AND HOW WE EXPERIENCE LIFE. IF 80% OF WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO CONSUME IS GOOD FOR YOU IT MAKES IT THAT MUCH EASIER. WE KNOW THIS, BUT DID YOU KNOW THAT HOW WE EAT EFFECTS OUR GUT AND OUR GUT HEALTH AFFECTS OUR MENTAL HEALTH? WE DON’T REALIZE HOW STRONG THE CONNECTION IS. THEY SAY OUR GUT IS LIKE OUR SECOND BRAIN. IT WILL LET US KNOW IF SOMETHING ISN’T RIGHT.
